Fly Virgin to Orlando in October 2014 for a fortnight on International Drive
Are you planning a Florida holiday in October 2014? Virgin's October 2014 flights to Orlando are just coming up for release so now's a great time to get organised.
The weather is beautiful and perfect for children who might suffer a bit in the heat and humidity of the summer months. Daytime temperatures peak at about 27c and drop gently to 18c at night. Florida is big on Halloween and spooky celebrations run right through the month at Disney and Universal. You can read about them on our October events in Florida page. Other than the few days around Halloween the parks are relatively quiet and early October in particular is good for avoiding queues for the rides.
This Orlando 2014 holiday is based on a family of 2 adults and 2 children traveling for a fortnight around 14th October 2014 but we cater for all parties, dates and durations so let us know if you need a quote for something different. Virgin Atlantic always get your Florida holiday off to a flying start. Fly direct to Orlando from either Gatwick or Manchester. Flight timings are convenient and check-ins are well staffed. Once on board seating is comfortable and everybody has a seat-back screen with games and the latest movies. Virgin keep the children happy with the Virgin Kids Pack, watch out for it at the gate.
At Orlando pick up a fully insured mid-size car. Our inclusive Florida car hire contract takes care of all fees and charges including the CDW. No need to worry about extra bills to pay.
International Drive is half an hour from the airport and well known as Orlando's premier entertainment area. Full of hotels, bars, restaurants, shows and attractions you won't lack for things to do. Stay at the Hampton Inn Pointe Orlando in a quad room. This family friendly hotel is one of our favourites and very highly rated by the reviewers on Tripadvisor. A good breakfast is included.
The hotel's central location is a few minutes from SeaWorld, Discovery Cove and Universal. Disney is a little further but your mid-size car will get you there in 20 minutes. Head out on the Interstate 4 for longer excursions. To the east you can visit Cape Canaveral and the Kennedy Space Center, the drive to the Atlantic Coast takes an hour. Westbound the fantastic beaches of Clearwater and St. Pete's are less than two hours away. You'll find Busch Gardens 90 minutes away in Tampa.
