  • August 2024 Virgin flights, Emerald Island villa, a trip to the Florida Keys - Richard

  • Just a quick note to say a huge thankyou for all you did in booking our Florida trip. Everyone had an amazing time and will be telling stories about it for a very very long time.

    The house in Kissimmee was just amazing, we honestly couldn’t have asked for anything better, I don’t think we made use of the facilities in the Emerald Isle complex as we were so super comfortable in the house nobody wanted to explore. Location was perfect being 10 to 15 mins to Disney, and around 20 to 2 and a half hours from Universal (long story involving thunderstorms and terrible American drivers).

    We loved Marathon and the Turtle hospital, personally hated Key West, but was worth going to see Hemmingway and Tennessee Williams houses. Key Largo was our favourite spot in the Keys though, felt more real and was equally beautiful.

    The Sun Pass mini was a bit of a pain to set up as you needed to register it to a US address and credit card, thankfully my Currensea card didn’t mind having a US address. Once it was set up though I didn’t have to worry about it again and it worked seamlessly, we paid around $40 in tolls during our stay which would have been substantially more if we had not used the Sun Pass. I couldn’t get the app to download even after changing country settings on my phone but I could access the account online.

    Oh and the car was great, next time we need a bigger one though as six adults and luggage to West Palm Beach from Orlando was a bit of a squeeze.

  • Many thanks for organising the travel for our fantastic family holiday to Florida. The car you booked for us was superb. A Jeep Wagoneer, easily fitted all seven of us and our extensive luggage. The flights were brilliant and ontime both legs. I would go Virgin again but possibly in Premium Economy as the seats as expected were a tad snug on a ten hour flight. The deal you got us for our park tickets was also excellent. The all day dining at the SeaWorld parks saved us considerable money and getting the tickets was actually very easy at both SeaWorld and Universal. All in all you provided us with first class service.

    We did have one drama whilst we were away, nothing to do with your services. My wife lost hers and my eldest sons passports. This was the day before we were due to fly home. I completed the requirements online and the British consulate did the rest. Ive gotta say they were brilliant. Emergency documents picked up at Orlando airport, we drove to Tampa and safely flew home.

    If we go to Florida again, I will definitely use and recommend your services.

  • California / Nevada honeymoon - August 2024 - Molly and George

  • We got back from the USA Saturday evening and are finally getting used to the jetlag! Thank you so much for organising the most perfect honeymoon for us. It was incredible!

    The hotels were perfect (some issues with the Cromwell but will comment on that later). The hotel in San Francisco was the perfect location, we were able to walk around the city and even walked from the bridge to Fisherman's wharf! The staff were lovely and so helpful.

    The hotel in Pacific Grove had the most welcoming of staff and was, again, a perfect location with a 20 minute walk into town. The staff told us all the best restaurants to eat at and gave us advice for where to go for good viewpoints and trails during our stay.

    The hotel in Pismo beach was in an idyllic location on the beach, not even a 10 second walk! The staff were also friendly and we could easily walk into the town. We have said we would love to visit Pismo beach again!

    The Clarion in Anaheim was perfectly located to Disney, we felt very safe walking there (even though there was some issues with homelessness in the area, it was still very safe). The parking was also not as expensive as it said on the sign, they had a separate fee for guests which was a nice surprise (can't remember exactly how much)!

    The Garland was STUNNING! Our favourite hotel of the trip. It felt more like a resort than a hotel and the staff were so friendly. We also loved the food/bar there and ate there every night of our stay. The hotel in Barstow was a great spot for a break in our drive. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was the best free one of the holiday. The Cromwell - majority of staff were lovely, the casino was also great in terms of not overwhelming us and we found ourselves using it more than other hotels. However, our room was, I hate to say this, filthy. We asked for it to be cleaned multiple times and they assured us it was but the state of it hadn't changed. On the 3rd time of asking, we experienced a rude member of staff who implied (and I quote) that 'my standards' was the issue. Having looked at recent reviews, it seems we were not the only guests to experience this staff member or the issues with the rooms. However, we did not let this put a dampner on our holiday as the location and size of the hotel were absolutely ideal! I would suggest though not to recommend this hotel until the cleanliness is solved as honestly it was not good. Our feet were dirty from the floors and we didn't feel comfortable sitting on the chair or putting our bags on the floor due to the dust, dirt and grime. But again, Vegas itself was AMAZING, and we could not fault the location and size of the hotel. It was exactly what we needed for our first visit to the city! To conclude, thank you so much for booking us the most perfect honeymoon. It has opened our eyes to America beyond Orlando and now we are already itching to save for another USA trip! Thank you for all of your help, I have attached some photos - nice ones of the stay and also some of the room in the Cromwell (after the '3rd clean') so you can see what we mean.

    Having us flying in to Tampa was brilliant! We got through passport control in a breeze and everything was so easy - even car hire. Dave is over the moon with his truck, he had a choice of so many, so chose a Dodge Ram.

    The villa is spot on, easy to find literally just off the H27 - clean, bright, well equipped and a welcome pack of all the essentials which was brilliant.

  • Just a quick email to say thank you for all your help and support in arranging such a fantastic holiday. We all had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed our time in Florida (even with the tropical storm!).

    Only small issue was when collecting the hire car (as they tried to palm us off with a much smaller vehicle than ordered) – but we managed to sort that relatively easily. The villa was great! Great location and lovely area to stay in.

  • We booked flights & park tickets through Alex and, honestly, he couldn't have made it easier for us. We originally booked and paid a deposit in 2019 to travel in September 2020. In April we had to make the decision to cancel or postpone - we decided to postpone at that time so we could continue with the booking through Alex. We got brilliant prices for flights & park tickets, and nothing was ever a bother for Alex if we wanted to change anything.

    September 2022 was the new date and again we had to postpone due to hurricane Ian - again, nothing was a bother and Alex changed all the flights for us with United and kept in contact so we knew what was happening.

  • 2022 Florida Holiday at Lake Buena Vista, St Pete's Beach and Miami - Neil

  • 50th Birthday Trip - 2 Years Later.

    Having utilised Alex's knowledge on our first family trip to Florida in 2015 it was a 'no-brainer' to contact him again when we decided to re-visit for my 50th in 2020. COVID obviously delayed the trip, however Alex kept us well informed on travel news and re-booked us initially for 2021 and subsequently 2022. There were a couple of minor accommodation changes along the way, however the specifications and price remained constant from initial 2020 plans.

    The Lake Buena Vista Village and Spa was in the perfect location for all Disney parks (less than 5 miles), the 3 bedroom 'Condo' style apartments were spacious and spotlessly clean (if not a little cosmetically outdated) and the complex leisure facilities were well maintained.
    In St Pete's Beach we stayed at The Beachcomber utilising a 'Junior Suite'. The beachside location could not be beaten and viewing the setting sun whilst sipping cocktails in Jimmy B's Beach Bar will stay long in the memory.

    Our final destination was Miami and there we found our boutique hotel sat 2 blocks from Ocean Drive and the famous South Beach. From the complimentary Prosecco upon checking in to the rooftop pool, Kimpton Anglers Hotel provided a real 'Miami' feel for our final 2 nights.

    The trip has provided our family of 4 (16 year old twins) with some everlasting memories! Thanks Alex.

  • Just wanted to drop you a quick email to say thank you again for organising our holiday to Florida the past two weeks. To say it was a success is an understatement. Kids thoroughly enjoyed it and, more importantly, Lisa loved it.

    Only one fly in the ointment was the checking in at the hotel on arrival, seems there was some sort of convention there and this took over 50 minutes to get done. But the whole holiday was fantastic, HOT but great… so much so I think we are looking to go back in 2021…. to Universal this time as well as Disney, didn’t think we would manage to squeeze it all in this time.   • Having booked with Alex in 2014 and 2018 I had no hesitation to book our 2019 fly drive with him. This time was even better than the first couple! Having booked our trip Alex phoned me a couple of months later with a deal that would go on to save me over £600!! What travel agent does that?!

    He was then incredibly patient with me when I decided to change the car hire company a couple of weeks before we flew! I recommend Alex to anyone that wants top quality service and the best prices, it still baffles me that people want to pay travel agent prices when there are legends like Alex ready to save you money which you can use on shopping!!

Now we're back I can honestly say Alex will be my first point of contact from now on. Alex arranged a beautiful villa in a lovely community. We had no problems picking up our monstrous car that took every piece of luggage a family of 5 could throw in the boot. The tickets were all ready and all we had to do was to walk up to the entrance no standing in line to exchange vouchers. Roll on 21/22 so we can book again!

  • We have recently returned from the most amazing 2-week stay in Kissimmee, Orlando after booking a package holiday via Alex.

    I think when booking a trip to Florida, especially as first timers, it is difficult to know where to start. Alex very helpfully arranged our flights, car hire and hotel stay for us.

    He was always at hand to answer the huge list of questions that we had and his patience with us was incredible.

    We also received links via email to help arrange our ESTAs which again was impeccably described by Alex.

    Alex also arranged a huge highlight of our trip, a dolphin swim at discovery cove. This also allowed us access and free parking to another of our favourites - Seaworld and Busch Gardens.

    Our holiday was flawless and we have no hesitation booking via Alex for our 2019 return to Florida that we are planning.

  • Easter 2017 Florida Holiday on International Drive - Sue

  • Just wanted to say thank you for organising our Florida holiday, we all had an amazing time!

    The Avanti was perfectly placed on International Drive, we enjoyed being able to wander from the hotel to restaurants. The few days in Miami were a great contrast, staying at the Nautilus Hotel was a touch of luxury to finish the holiday on, again perfectly placed for the beach and a walk along Ocean Drive. The park ticket selection worked for us and thanks again for advising us not to try and do Universal in the 10 days as well! It definitely would have been too much and instead we had time to do everything we wanted in the other parks plus a trip to Kennedy Space which was fantastic too.

  • It's a bit late in the day, but as I am in the process of enquiring about our next holiday to Florida in 2017 I thought it would be right to leave a review also. I did not realise we could but here we go anyway!

    Not much to say really other than brilliant! When i first contacted Alex, he was quick to respond. Attentive and focused in making the whole deal about booking a holiday or flights easy. I couldn't fault his attention to detail and his efforts to deliver the best deals out there, even when flight prices changed for the better, I was contacted and a better deal offered.

    I did only book flights and a vehicle, but nonetheless, it was easy and no issues at all.

    For that reason, although not definite yet, I have asked that he looks at the bigger package of flights, car hire and villa, where normally I would have researched and booked all this individually myself. I have always informed friends and family of this company as I believe it is the best out of all.

    Looking forward to a next visit (and undoubtedly hot weather in August)!

  • Just wanted to say that we had an amazing holiday in Florida. The weather was very wet and stormy in Orlando which even the locals were saying was unusual for March, but we still managed to do most of what we planned.

    Islamorada was amazing and apart from one day when it rained a bit, weather was gorgeous. The Postcard Inn was excellent, big room with great view, so glad we paid extra for that! Lots to do in the keys and would love to go back one day.

    Flights, hotels and all arrangements that you made for us all went to plan.

  • Sorry it has taken so long to send thanks on behalf of all of us for the endless help in arranging our Florida Holiday we had in October 2015.

    We had a really wonderful time and loved the villa (all on one level ideal for our tiny one) the pool was so secure so no worries of him running in.

    The location was brilliant just a few minutes run to Disney Parks and loved Emerald Island Resort all felt so secure.

    Mini Bus was perfect size for all of us (and more), were pleased we took Baby Seat no problems with the Transportation of it via airports.

    So Alex everything was as you promised and although we must have been a pain to you, we had such a wonderful time with the support that you gave.

    I would like to say a big thank you for your efforts on providing our party with a hassle free holiday and for all your advice and help with many of our questions.
    We all had a great time and will have no reservations about recommending you to family and friends who may wish to travel in the future.
    A few things for you to pass onto other clients that may be helpful.

    1. Alamo did try and sell us Satnav, (as you informed us) we refused and subsequently found the vehicles had fantastic Satnavs built in and were invaluable.
    2. If your clients are visiting the parks then use the Apps and fast pass for that park but be aware that most of the best rides and shows were booked up to 2 months in advance, so pre plan if possible.
    3. Also the same applies to Airboat rides as we tried and could not book up.

  • We flew to orlando this year with Virgin Atlantic airways booked through Florida Holiday Planner (Alex Hodge) and the service we received was excellent. Everything was done for us the flights, villa, car hire, insurance and park tickets.
    We stayed in Clermont on the US 27 on a estate called Glenbrook and the villa was beautiful, a credit to the owners. The car hire went very smoothly at the airport picking up and dropping off.
    All in all the holiday was amazing and we cannot thank Alex enough for all his help.
